The tallest sculpture of Hindu God Vishnu is located at Garuda Wisnu Kencana (GWK) Park in Bali in Indonesia. This biggest sculpture of Vishnu remains unfinished. The current height of the statue is 23 meters (75 feet).
The original plan was to build a 146 meter gold plated Vishnu riding Garuda on top of an 11 storey entertainment complex. If completed this would have been on the tallest statues in the world. But Bali Hindu religious leaders opposed the commercialization of Hindu Gods as they felt its massive size might disrupt the spiritual balance of the Bali island.
Mandala Garuda Wisnu Kencana, or Garuda Wisnu Kencana (GWK), is a private cultural park on the Bukit Peninsula at the southern end of the island of Bali in Indonesia.
