Ratha Saptami is dedicated to Lord Surya, the Hindu Sun God. Ratha Saptami 2017 date is January 30. A kolam or rangoli of Lord Surya riding a chariot is made on the ground and worshipped in many places. Some people boil milk in earthen vessels on the day.

Ratha Saptami or Rathsaptami is an auspicious day dedicated to Lord Surya Puja. It is also known as Surya Jayanti, Vidhan Saptami, Arogya Saptami, Achala Saptami. Ratha Saptami 2012 date is January 30, Monday. Shukla Paksha Saptami in Magh month (seventh day in bright half of Magh month) is celebrated as Radha Saptami.
