Chamundeshwari Temple in Mysore is one of the powerful Astadasha Shakti Peetha, 18 prominent temples of Mother Goddess. Durga Navaratri celebrated in Ashwayuja month is the most popular and the biggest event in Southern India, especially in Karnataka. Mysore Navaratri 2011 begins on 8th October and ends on 17th October in 2011. Chamundi is the fierce form of Goddess Durga who is very similar to Maha Kali or Bhadrakali. During Navratri, Goddess Chamundeshwari devi is worshipped in 9 different alankara. The temple of Chamundeshwari located on the hillock called Chamundi Hills near Mysore.
